The celebrated songwriters' event series Blue Jay Sessions and its founder Dan Clapson were elated to find out this week that they had amassed a total of four award nominations for the 2024 Country Music Alberta Awards.

With the awards gala set to take place in Edmonton on Sunday, March 10, 2024, Blue Jay Sessions and Clapson are nominees in the following categories: Industry Person of the Year, Live Venue or Series of the Year, Talent Buyer of the Year, and Live Event of the Year (Blue Jay Sessions: YEG Edition 2023).

"It's an honour to be nominated alongside so many event organizers and live music venues in Alberta," says Clapson. "Everyone is working tirelessly to uplift independent country and roots artists in the province and the music community is all the better for it."

To coincide with the award nominations, Blue Jay Sessions has just announced a pop-up in Edmonton at OTTO Food & Drink, which will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024.

"The Country Music Alberta awards weekend is always an exciting one and this is the first year it's taking place in Edmonton," adds Clapson. "We're excited to be the unofficial precursor to what is sure to be a weekend full of amazing music and, of course, celebration!"

The 2024 Country Music Alberta Awards, presented by Craig Senyk Initiatives, will take place in Edmonton on March 9 and 10, 2024.

A full list of award nominees can be found on the CMAB website.
